Game Recap

The King William Cavaliers spoiled the homecoming festivities in Charles City County. The Cavs started the game off with an onside kick and recovery. The Cavs would later lose the ball, but a big punt block & return by Corey Stewart got the Cavs rolling. QB Lance Alfonso had an exceptional game throwing 3 touchdowns and rushing for 1 more. John Williams made the most out of his opportunities Friday night. Williams kicked & recovered his onside kick and scored 2 touchdowns on his only 2 receptions of the night. Marc Gresham also had another outstanding evening running the football earning 2 touchdowns on the ground. The Cavaliers offensive line played very well and controlled the line of scrimmage. The line created a lot of opportunities for the offense to capitalize on throughout the evening. Defensively the front 7 had a very strong game. Standouts include linebackers Sincere Weeden and Chris Southern as well as defensive linemen Thomas Cooke and Tommy Riffe. The Defensive unit as a whole played a very solid game. With the exception of a few big plays, the Cavalier defense played a great game.
